Not too shabby on our first attempt! I found a basic dough recipe that called for flour, eggs, EVOO, and some water. We had no problems with mixing, kneading, or rising, and the attachment worked fine. We decided to use the dough to make lasagna...and though it was pretty good, the dough just didn't have that consistency that we were looking for...it was a bit doughy and not light and chewy like the pasta we're used to. The taste was indeed fresh though! However, Jer had it for leftovers the next day and said the pasta tasted much better. So we need to figure out those kinks, but for the most part, it went well for our first time! Speaking of time, it was a bit time consuming though, I dunno how ppl were blogging and saying it took them 10 minutes, haha.
Now Jer wants to get an ice cream maker attachment. Kitchen Aid gives a 25% rebate on attachments during the holiday season so we may get one...just in time for winter. Although he insists that LA does not have "winters." Anyways, making your own food from scratch is really nice if you take the effort and make the time. We won't be doing it all the time b/c we're quite busy, but we're doing what we can to maintain healthier lifestyles. :)
