Santouka, rounds 1 & 2

Oh, how I love ramen!

Nancy introduced me to Santouka, located in the Mitsuwa market off Centinela and Venice.

But the best dishes were sold out!

So we got shio ramen. The broth was freaking porky and just delicious. The noodles were cooked perfectly. I was in heaven.

It was so good, I returned 4 days later with Kimmy.

She actually didn't get anything from Santouka...but instead opted for soba noodles with shrimp tempura from the place next to it.

Okay, back to Santouka. Lifelike menu here!

I got set D...mmm. It comes to pork rice. The pork is so fatty it melts in your mouth.

Egg was flavorful, but a bit salty for me. I like my eggs plain!

I want to come back already!! Next time I want to try the miso ramen.

Ah, did you see my post on this? I was disappointed with this location's ramen. I thought the Costa Mesa Santouka was much better. And if they ran out of salt ramen, how could you order shio? B/c shio is salt. Huh!

Oh I took the picture after we ate. They had only run out of pork rice and special pork before we ordered. I'm never in OC so I guess I must settle for this location! It's only 5 min away from my pad so I shouldn't complain. How is the Torrance location?

I've never been to the Torrance location so I can't say. I was just so disappointed though b/c even though it's a chain, it was worlds apart in taste. :(
